Paper plate mask

from:

When making Halloween crafts, a really fun thing to make is a paper plate mask. The great thing about a paper plate mask is that you can use all sorts of creative ideas to make different creatures. A paper plate mask can be anything your child can envision, and with some creativity, they can transform themselves into anything from a tiger to a rat, a cat, or a bat. Here are some tips on how to make a paper plate mask.

To make a rabbit paper plate mask, you will need two white paper plates, pink construction paper, paint, or crayons, scissors, stapler, glue, crayons or markers, a small pink pom pom (optional) and elastic or string. Start your rabbit paper plate mask by making the ears. Color the inside of the plate pink or glue pink construction paper on the inside. Cut the paper plate in half for two ears.

Take a new paper plate for your rabbit paper plate mask and cut a ¼” wedge out of one side – this will be where your child’s mouth will be. Staple the ears to the top of the mask – the part opposite the wedge – with the straight edge to the inside. Cut two eyes in the face just below the ears. You can glue the pink pom pom just under the eyes for the rabbit’s nose or color in a nose. Decorate your mask with crayons or markers drawing on whiskers and coloring as you want. Staple a piece of elastic on either side of the mask or punch a hole and bring a string through the holes to be tied in the back to secure this rabbit paper plate mask.

Another paper plate mask you can make that is easy is that of a pumpkin. Draw a pumpkin face on the back of the paper plate. Use scissors to cut out the eyes, nose, and mouth. Decorate the rest of the pumpkin coloring it orange. You can either use elastic that is staple to either side of the paper plate mask, or punch a hole in either side and put string through each hole to be tied in the back to secure the pumpkin paper plate mask.

If you want to make a paper plate mask, you can make almost anything you want to as long as you are willing to think “outside the box” and be creative. Use crayons and markers and have at. You will find that you can make a paper plate mask resembling anything with markers, crayons, and your imagination.
