Halloween crafts and games for kids
from:One of the most fun things about the Halloween holiday is making things and having parties – which is why Halloween crafts and games for kids abound everywhere you look. There are all sorts of inventive craft ideas you can use to make decorating for Halloween a blast for kids and games you can play actually have their roots in old folklore. Need some ideas for Halloween crafts and games for kids? We’ll see if we can give you a head start.
One of the most played Halloween games is bobbing for apples. This tradition goes back for years and years and is still played at many Halloween parties today. When we played bobbing for apples, you needed an old silver washtub filled about halfway to the top with water. Then the apples were placed in the water and you were to get an apple using only your mouth and no hands. Let me tell you the secret to it – trap the apple on the bottom of the tub and bite! It only takes a few moments and there’s little risk of drowning!
Halloween crafts and games for kids are easy to come up with if you know where to look. If you’re having a Halloween party for a lot of kids, you may want to consider letting them make their own treats! Edible dirt and worms is always a big hit! Take a clear plastic cup and place a scoop of chocolate ice cream in the bottom. Give each child a Zip-Loc baggie that has some Oreo cookies in it and instruct them to smash the cookies into pieces. Pour the cookies on top of the ice cream and add some gummy worms. Give them a spoon and tell them to dig in!
Another great Halloween craft for kids to do is to make scary pumpkin window decorations. Take a piece of orange construction paper and have the kids draw a scary pumpkin face on it. Then have them cut out the face. Leave the paper in a square because you can make many of these to tape to the windows in your home. Then illuminate them from behind with a lamp, and you have scary windows!
Use your creativity when looking around for Halloween crafts and games for kids. Ideas can be found in many places with the Internet being the most plentiful place to look. See what is out there and then have a blast seeing what you can create!
