Egg carton crafts

from:

When you are wanting to make home made decorations for various occasions, you might be surprised at what you can do with egg carton crafts. Whether you are celebrating Easter, Halloween, even Christmas, you can make great egg carton crafts that will celebrate the season and get you involved with your children as you make these cute little decorations. Here are a few of the egg carton crafts we found to get you started:

For Halloween, one of the great egg cartons crafts you and your children can make is a spooky bat you can hang from the ceiling or from trees outside. Take a regular, clean egg carton and make sure it is clean. If you want to hang your bat outside, you may want to choose a Styrofoam one instead of a cardboard one. Cut out three of the egg cups keeping all three attached side by side. Take the two outside egg cups and cut out the front and back. These are your bat wings. Paint your bat black and then use white paint or glue on googly eyes. Make a hole in the top of the center egg cup and then a string that has a knot at the end that won’t go through the hole. Put the string in the hole, hang your bat, and enjoy your creation!

There are lots of other egg carton crafts you can make for other seasons too. Have you ever thought about making an egg carton caterpillar? This egg carton craft is really easy and is especially suited for the younger crowd. Just take a typical dozen egg container and cut in half lengthwise leaving six egg cups together. Use paint, glitter, or whatever your heart desires to decorate each egg cup. For the front one, draw on a cute face and use a pipe cleaner to make antennae. What could be even better? Don’t call him a caterpillar; call him a bookworm which will encourage children to read more!

Going back to egg carton crafts for Halloween, you can also make a spider from an egg carton cup. Just separate one cup from the carton. Using the point of a scissors, an adult should make four small holes on each side of the cup for the legs. Insert a pipe cleaner into each of the holes twisting it from the inside to secure. Draw a face on the front and decorate the body and you have an egg carton spider. You can also paint the cup black as well and then decorate accordingly.

Egg carton crafts are very fun to make, and when you use a little creativity, we’re willing to be you’ll be surprised at what you can create!
